You never need to change the battery. The sock is powered by a coin cell rechargeable battery. Your sock will need to be charged daily. Usually between one nap time is sufficient to get the sock to a full charge.

Owlet was not designed for twins. We do plan on developing a more twin friendly version. Right now the app only works with one device at a time. You can use two Owlet monitors in your home, you just need two base stations, two socks, and two devices (or you can log out and back in from the same device).
Yes, the Owlet Base Station is your primary alert. It will alert you with both flashing lights and a buzzer. If you want to make sure to get alerts, stay within hearing distance of the Base Station. You can also receive alerts on your phone via WiFi.
