Celebrity Interview - Dani Krum!

July 8, 2015

This week we invited lifestyle and fashion blogger Dani Krum from danimarieblog.com to Owlet!

Dani is a wife, mother, pediatric nurse, and fashion-enthusiast. Dani's blog has become one of my go-to's for fashion inspiration when I'm feeling "blah" with my style because, let's be honest, fashion doesn't always come easy as a mom, and she is fabulous!

Today on Owlet, we're giving you an inside look into Dani Krum's world of pregnancy and parenthood with an exclusive interview!

Celebs are all about unique, one-of-a-kind baby names. If you were giving a baby a crazy celebrity name, what would it be?

I am pretty sure that we named our little boy a crazy unexpected name. His name is King and we absolutely love it. Sometimes when we tell people what his name is we have to spell it out because they don't get that we would name someone King. We love that it is different, unique, but everyone can pronounce it and spell it.

If you could wish one pregnancy "symptom" on your husband for 24 hours, what would it be?

I would want him to be able to feel the baby kicks. I know that isn't really a symptom (don't get me wrong, I was SO sick for the entire 9 months), but there isn't anything I wish he could experience more than feeling those baby bumps, kicks, and movements all day every day!

Babies and kids teach us a lot about ourselves. Are there any unexpected physical or personality traits that your son inherited from either you or your husband, maybe that you didn't realize you had?

King has my drama of life 100% and I don't think that is a good thing... He is only 6 months old and we can already see it in him. He also has my husbands personality of being content though which seems like it doesn't fit with my drama. He is the most content baby until he either wants something or something is wrong and then the dramatic cries and screams come out. I haven't necessarily seen any traits in him that I haven't noticed in myself until after yet, but now I am curious and will be on the lookout!

What is the most ridiculous conflict you and your husband have had over baby names?

My husband wanted to name King "Krew." I hated the sound of "Krew Krum." I love the name Krew, I just don't feel like it fit well with our last name. He thinks we will name our next baby Krew, ha we will see about that and fight that battle when the next one is on its way.

Working as a pediatric nurse obviously gave you an idea of what to expect with a baby, but is there anything you didn’t expect or was different than you had imagined for yourself?

I never had expected that I could love someone so much. I know that sounds cliche, but it is so true. My sweet boy has my entire heart and I would do anything for him. Something that really caught me off guard though is that it would upset me and bother me so much to watch him have shots, his nose sucked out, or anything small like that. I do stuff like that to little ones quite frequently and it doesn't bother me because I know I am helping that sweet little one and their parents, but man, when it is your own little one, it is a totally different ball game! The tears that rolled down my face were so unexpected the day he got his first shots!

Is there anything else you'd like to share about your pregnancy? Funny stories, experiences, or advice?

We had a really hard time getting pregnant and it took us 2 and a half years. Every moment of that time was hard, but oh so worth it. Having King in our lives has changed us so much and I would go through all the heartache and sorrow all over again to have him here. Having a baby truly shakes up your whole life, but man are those baby slobbery kisses and giggles worth every second of it!
