We recently announced clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) of BabySat™, Owlet’s first medical pulse-oximetry device featuring its advanced, wire-free sock design. As a leader in infant health and monitoring, the addition of BabySat combines our consumer-first expertise with hospital-grade monitoring accuracy.
We know one of the most important questions you may have is, “What is the difference between BabySat and Dream Sock?” The main difference to keep in mind is that BabySat is a prescription only, medical device intended for babies that a healthcare provider determines could benefit from additional monitoring at-home under the supervision of a physician. Dream Sock is our award-winning consumer product, intended to assist caregivers in tracking their child’s well-being by monitoring sleep patterns, quality and duration of sleep. We also submitted Owlet’s Health Notifications software as a medical device technology for regulatory clearance by the FDA (see announcement here), and we are hopeful that this software will be available as a medical device function for our Dream Sock product line in the future. These distinct product lines all contribute to Owlet’s mission to bring our innovative technologies to help every parent provide at-home care.

Uses medical-grade pulse oximetry technology to provide real-time display of Baby’s pulse rate and oxygen saturation level.
Alerts parents when readings fall outside of adjustable ranges, set by the patient’s physician.
FDA-cleared medical device, prescription required.
Dream Sock
For use with babies 0 to 18 months (6lbs - 30lbs)
Tracks Baby’s Sleep Quality Indicators including movement, heart rate, and average oxygen level.
Uses a proprietary algorithm to create a unique baseline of Baby’s sleep quality, and will send a real-time prompt to the caregiver if Baby’s baseline significantly changes.
Use with Owlet Dream App and pair with the Owlet Cam, providing the most complete view of Baby. Includes access to automatic Predictive Sleep Technology to track Baby’s sleep/wake windows, saved video clips, cry notifications, picture-in-picture, and more.
